Security Construction and Equipment Committee

The Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC) is a standing inter-departmental committee responsible for the evaluation of security equipment for use by Australian Government departments and agencies. SCEC is also responsible for the SCEC Security Zone Consultant scheme, SCEC Approved Locksmith scheme, and SCEC endorsed Courier scheme.

The equipment evaluation program and consultant, locksmith and courier schemes are managed by ASIO's T4 Protective Security.

SCEC Product Evaluation Program - Q1 2026 Intake

The categories listed below are currently open for applications and submissions of interest, closing the 31st of March 2026.

  • Class B and C mobile modular storage unit (compactus);
  • Seismic sensors;
  • Locks and locking devices (including padlocks); and
  • Indoor motion detectors.

All enquires and requests for product submission documentation are to be sent to scec@scec.gov.au. Please use the subject line SCEC Product Evaluation Program Q1 2026 Intake - company name - product name. Include a brief description of the product and attach any relevant supporting documentation.  

**Once a product is officially accepted into the SCEC Product Evaluation Program, an evaluation delivery timeline will be confirmed** 

Obtaining the SEEPL

The Security Equipment Evaluated Product List (SEEPL) lists all the security products approved by SCEC.
